Kim Jong Un Inspects New Missile Facility
The news agency reported that Kim inspected the integrated missile production line at a prominent weapons-manufacturing enterprise to review the facility’s overall output capacity and its future development potential.
He was joined on the visit by senior figures from the ruling Workers' Party along with key executives from the defense manufacturing sector.
This inspection occurs as Kim prepares for his first participation in a multilateral diplomatic gathering since taking leadership in December 2011.
At 41 years old, Kim is slated to attend a significant military parade in China on Wednesday, organized by Beijing, which marks the 80th anniversary of the conclusion of World War II.
Roughly 26 international leaders — including heads of state and government from Russia, Indonesia, Pakistan, and India — are expected to be present at the ceremony.
Throughout his time as North Korea’s leader, Kim has avoided attending United Nations sessions and other international summits, while his country has faced heavy global sanctions linked to its nuclear arms development since 2006.
